Class Description:
NEW this Summer! Repertory (Age 10 - 15):
**Repertory class counts as two classes.
This is a two hour dance rehearsal where students will learn a complete new dance in 8 weeks. The dance will be designed specifically for the students ability. Students who are willing to enroll in this class must have at least 4 years of dance experience and must commit to 8 weeks of rehearsal classes. This class will be held in-person following state’s safety protocols. Space is limited. Please reserve our spots ASAP.
NEW this Summer! Intro to Choreography (Age 11 +):
***Intro to Choreography class counts as two classes.
This class will introduce students to the beginning concepts of choreography, such as, how to use concepts of space, time, energy and improvisation in dance-making. Students will get a chance to explore different ways of moving and to experience first hand choreographic process. We will play choreography games and discuss different tools and tricks used by various choreographers. Students who are willing to enroll in this class must have at least 4 years of dance experience and must commit to 2 hours assignments after class per week. This class will be held in-person following state’s safety protocols. Space is limited. Please reserve our spots ASAP.
NEW! Just Move with Me (Age 16 + / Adult):
This one hour happy work-out dance class combines fundamental ballet movement to develop lean muscle, foundational yoga postures to align and promote flexibility in the body, pilate movement to strengthening the core muscle, and dance combination to burn calories. No dance experience is required. Adults are welcome! This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Basic Level - Pre Ballet & Chinese Dance (Age 4 - 6):
Combining basic ballet elements and creative dance exercises, this class introduces kids to the joy of movement through musicality, creativity, coordination and the social interaction of the dance class. This class is recommended to the basic level and any new dance learner. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Beg Chinese Classical Dance (Age 7 - 10):
This beginning Chinese Classical Dance class is designed for the students who are new to Chinese Classical dance. Through learning various combinations, students will gain fundamental knowledge about the main elements of Chinese Classical Dance (古典舞身韵). This class is highly recommended to the students who have not taken or taken one or two years of dance, and for our beginning level class students. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Int/Adv Chinese Classical Dance (Age 11 +):
This intermediate to Advance Chinese Classical Dance class is designed for the students who have learned Chinese Classical dance for several years. Through learning complex dance phrases, students will gain deeper understanding of Chinese Classical Dance (古典舞身韵). This class is highly recommended to our intermediate and advanced level student, or anyone who has taken dance for 4 years. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Beg Ballet & Tech (Age 6 - 9):
This Beginning Ballet & Technique class will offer age appropriate stretches, basic positions of the feet and arms, the concept of parallel vs. turned out legs and feet, and ballet class etiquette are part of the curriculum. Students learn ballet terminology. Simple ballet turns and the preparation of intermediate turns will be introduced as well.This class is highly recommended to the students who have taken one or two years dance, and our beginning level class students.This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Int/Adv Ballet & Tech (Age 10+):
This intermediate to Advance Ballet & Technique class will reinforce the basic concepts learned in Beginning Ballet, and then gradually move the students into the traditional ballet class format of barre followed by center exercises. More complex combinations and techniques are given as students progress.Moving in time with the music becomes more important, as well as memorization of ballet terminology. This class is highly recommended to our intermediate and advanced level student, or anyone who has taken ballet for 4 years. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Int/Adv *SFT (Age 10 +):
*SFT: Strength, Flexibility, and Technique.
This higher level SFT class is designed to advance on strength, flexibility, and the 'tricks' of dance. It will help for dancers to increase flexibility and build muscle. We will focus on upper, lower, and core strengthening exercises to excel dance technique and abilities.For the technique part, we will focus on advance the technique skills such as double or triple pirouettes, fouette turn, and extensions in ballet, and multiple wheel turns in Chinese dance, and various jumps. Students will Improve their dance technique through this power packed class! I highly recommend the students who are in intermediate and advanced level class, and willing to improve their dance technique and performance to take this class. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Beg Contemporary Dance (Age 8 - 11):
This beginning Contemporary Dance class is designed for students with minimal dance experience who are curious about contemporary dance techniques and choreography. Perfect for students who have taken other beginning level dance courses and who want to broaden their dance knowledge and deepen their physical skill and experience as well as develop movement articulation, coordination, strength, flexibility and increased knowledge about their own physical potential. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
Int/Adv Contemporary Dance (Age 12 + )
This fast paced and challenging classe is ideal for intermediate to Advanced students who are looking to expand their knowledge and performance skills. Students will work further on technique, learning the dynamics of movement phrasing, developing artistic expression, presence and understanding intention, emphasising on music complexity and emotional connection while being able to carry more mature themes in their dancing. This is a hybrid class, you can take it in person or virtually on zoom.
